Meet The Team
Principal Investigator
Dr Chloe Wong
Senior Lecturer at King's College London
Chloe is an epigeneticist based at the Social, Genetics, Developmental Psychiatry Centre at Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience.
“My primary research interest lies in epigenetics, a biological basis that underlies the interactions between nature (genes) and nurture (environment), specifically in psychological behaviours and psychiatric traits. I have a keen interest in better understanding the different aspects of University experience that could influence the wellbeing and mental health of students, especially for those at King’s as I was once a KCL undergraduate and postgraduate too! Come join us in this mission to learn more about how we can improve the experience of university life.”
Principal Investigator
Dr Helena Zavos
Senior Lecturer at King's College London
Helena is a psychologist at the Department of Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience.
"My research has focused on understanding why mental health conditions develop. During my time at KCL, I have become particularly interested in understanding factors that affect student mental health and well-being and how, as a university, we can better support students during their time at KCL. This study is one way we can start looking at this. We really encourage to take part in this study!"
Research Assistant
Lorenzo Cappiello
MSc Social Cognition: R&A, UCL
“Hi! I have just graduated from King’s College London, and I am enrolled in the MSc in Social Cognition at University College London.
I am interested in understanding and improving students’ mental health. During my experience at university, I have matured an interest in Educational Psychology and policymaking. Previously, I had the opportunity to work on a project focused on how to develop a toolkit for universities to implement and incorporate mental wellbeing within the curriculum.
Thanks to this chance, I had the opportunity to talk with many people about their experiences. This made me realise how little psychological knowledge there is among our cohorts. I hope future findings of this project will help improve mental health policies and approaches in our college and nationwide!”
Uni-WiSE Project Ambassador
Melania Sukacz
3rd Year BSc Psychology Student, KCL
“Hi! I am a third year Psychology student at King’s. As I aspire to become a clinical psychologist one day, I have naturally become very interested in mental health and its advocacy.
I believe that with Uniwise we can help raise awareness about everyday mental struggles students face during their time at university, and that we can contribute to the improvement of student experience at KCL.”
